We used to eat this growing up… Can also add a tin of mushrooms in butter sauce if desired. Recipe can also be cooked in a slow cooker.

I’m not the best cook but I have one of those big red pots that is like a slow cooker. How would I cook this in that?

Just made this using low fat sour cream and added a tablespoon of dijon mustard to taste. Also put it in the slow cooker for approximately 2.5 hours. DELISH!! Will definitely be having this again.

Would you need to brown the chicken first if using a slow cooker?

    1. Nicole Avatar

Not necessarily Gemma – browning the chicken first will add to the flavour but it’s still delicious if you don’t brown it 🙂

I have ‘fancied’ this up a bit by adding some white wine, leeks, mushrooms, garlic, herbs and pepper. Added a little less sour cream then stated in the recipe. Looking forward to dinner. It smells delicious!

I made this three times in the last two months and it has quickly become a family favourite, even though my husband doesn’t really like sour cream, he loves this recipe! 🙂

I made this tonight as a pasta bake (med the noodles in) plus added some sliced zucchini, red capsicum and sprinkled some grated cheese on top – very yum!
