Ingredients

  • 3 cups Self raising flour

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 0.5 tsp bicarbonate of soda

  • 100 gram Butter-(room temperature)

  • 1.25 cups Milk

  • 4 tbsp Tomato sauce

  • 1 cup tasty Cheese

  • 0.75 cup Ham-shredded

  • 0.5 cup Pineapple pieces

Directions

  • Preheat your slow cooker on high for 20 minutes and line with a sheet of baking paper on the bottom.
  • Sift the self raising flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda into a bowl.
  • Add the butter and pinch with your finger tips until it is blended in and resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Add the milk and use a butter knife to mix the dough together.
  • Remove from the bowl and knead lightly to bring it together.
  • Roll the dough out to a long rectangle shape.
  • Spread the tomato sauce over the rectangle (right to the ends) and top with the ham, pineapple and half the the cheese.
  • Roll into a big scroll and cut into individual scrolls (I got about 8 scrolls).
  • Arrange the scrolls on the bottom of the slowcooker as evenly as you can in one layer.
  • Top with the remaining half a cup of cheese and place the lid on the slow cooker.
  • Cook on HIGH for one and a half hours.
  • Remove carefully.  If you want the top to be browned and crisp, place under the grill for a few minutes. Eat whilst hot!
  • Recipe Hints and Tips:
  • Slow Cooker Pizza Pull Apart is not suitable to freeze.
  • You don’t need to use tomato sauce if you don’t wish. Pizza sauce, barbecue sauce, tomato paste or similar will work just as well.
  • Add any usual pizza toppings you like!

Slow Cooker Pizza Pull Apart

I am so enjoying using the slow cooker as an oven – this recipe I adapted from our Slow Cooker Cinnamon Scroll recipe to make a Slow Cooker Pizza Pull Apart – and it is AWESOME, super easy and cooked in just one and a half hours.  Best of all it is egg free and yeast free.

Took 2 1/2 hrs on high to cook thru… was still gooey in the centre after an hour & was a little dry on the outside. What went wrong?? (I didn’t alter the recipe at all).

Maybe your slow cooker wasn’t hot enough Kirrily? I’ve made it a dozen times with success.

Made for lunch today and I was pleasantly surprised! Better than I even thought, but I could have added more tomato paste and fillings. I also only made a 1/2 batch which was perfect for the small 2kg slow cooker I have.

Would Gluten Free S/R flour be ok to use?

    1. Jody Allen Avatar

You can use Gluten Free flour, but it might be a little dry, so add a bit more liquid. Plus it won’t last as long – so eat it fresh.

What size slow cooker is this recipe for? 3L or 6L?

    1. Jody Allen Avatar

      six litre Kellie.

I made this yesterday. Was great. We made a vego style with capsicum, onion and cherry tomatoes. However next time I will fully line the slow cooker with Baking paper to allow for easy removal from the cooker.

      Thanks Bec – great tip!
