Just wondering if the coconut in the ingredients is used only for the icing topping or is it added to the dry ingredients of the mixture and then used as a icing topping with extra? Probably dumb question, but just to claryfy for me before I make it??

You add the 1 cup in the recipe for the slice & then when you ice the slice you can add extra coconut on top!

I make this regularly, I use Gluten free flour and dairy free margarine and no one has ever noticed the difference and it always gets people coming back for second and thirds.

This is so simple and sooooo delicious! I used coconut sugar instead of brown sugar. I didn’t even bother icing it – it’s so moist and sensational! Wouldn’t it be delicious mixed with some peanut butter?!
