Ingredients

  • 3 cups Rolled oats

  • 1 tsp Baking powder

  • 300 gram Butter-melted

  • 3 tbsp Honey

  • 1.5 cups Flour

  • 1.5 cups Caster Sugar

  • 1.33 cups Desiccated coconut

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Lightly grease and line an 18 cm x 28 cm slice pan with baking paper.
  • In a bowl, combine dry ingredients.
  • Mix well with a wooden spoon.
  • Add butter and honey, mix well until combined.
  • Press mixture firmly into pan using a spoon or base of a glass.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Cut into slices while hot and leave to cool in the pan.

Notes

  • Honey Oat Slice is suitable to freeze for up to two weeks.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 10 days. I have used golden syrup for a richer flavour in place of the honey. Also, I have used only 2 tablespoons of honey in the mixture and then drizzled the extra tablespoon over the top of mixture.

What alternatives are for caster sugar and butter

Hi Carly, you could try it with Natvia, Stevia, or
      Equal.
Instead of butter you could use margarine or Nuttlex.
