Want the easy homemade version? Jump to the recipe below and save this one now before flu season properly kicks in.

Fresh ginger has long been used in home remedies for nausea, sore throats and congestion, while lemon and honey help create a warm drink that’s easy to sip when you’re feeling run down. Whether you’re fighting off the flu yourself or looking after sick kids and a sick partner at the same time, this is one of those recipes worth keeping on standby.

What You’ll Want On Hand Before Flu Season Hits

This recipe is much easier when you already have the basics sitting in your fridge or pantry. Fresh ginger, lemons and honey are the big ones, but having a decent insulated mug or glass jug on hand also makes life easier when everyone in the house starts getting sick at once.

If your family catches every bug going around daycare or school, it’s worth stocking up before winter hits properly.
