Ingredients
2 tsp Dried Yeast
1 cup Milk-warm
1 number Egg-beaten
1 tbsp Sugar
60 gram Butter-melted
2 cups Plain flour-sifted well
0.66 cup Golden Syrup-warmed
gram Canola Oil for Deep Frying
Directions
- In a large bowl combine the yeast, warm milk, sugar, egg and butter.
- Mix well and gradually add the sifted Plain Flour.
- Stir until well combined.
- Place a damp tea towel over the bowl and place it in a warm place for approximately one hour or until the batter is doubled in size.
- Using a wooden spoon mix the batter until smooth.
- Heat the canola oil and drop tablespoons of the batter into the hot oil in batches.
- When the puffs are evenly browned, remove and place on some paper towels to drain.
- Divide the puffs into plate.
- Heat the Golden Syrup in the microwave until hot but not boiling, and pour over evenly just before serving.
