A man, who found a dead worm in a cucumber he bought at Tesco, took to Facebook to air his disappointment– and it is hilarious!

Wes Metcalfe posted on the Tesco Facebook pagea photo of a grim discovery he made when he opened the film on his cucumber – a squished, dead worm!

Most people would feel a bit sick, but Wes has definitely found the hilarity of the situation. He began by saying he purchased one of the store’s “fine cucumbers” which he planned on using to make a cucumber sandwich, but when he opened the film covering, he saw a worm inside.

“I thought – at last, finally Tesco have come up with something to beat Aldi’s free spider with bananas offer,” he wrote.

Instead of feeling disgusted about the dead worm, Wes said that he even called his kids to “come and meet” their “new pet”.

“We decided to name him William. Our new pet appeared to be very unresponsive, we just put it down to him being sleepy and decided to give him sometime to come round,” he wrote.

Wes added that they observed the worm for 24 hours and realised it wasn’t moving.

“24 hours later and William still hasn’t moved, on closer inspection he seems quite flat (again see picture) and I think he may be dead. Well…I’m no vet but I think the tight shrink wrap on the cucumber may have squashed and killed William.

“I know Aldi’s Banana spiders were deadly but at least they had some life in them. ” he wrote.

Then Wes explained what his children felt and their plans for the dead worm.

“I now have three very upset children, a worm funeral to plan and to top it all off I’ve totally lost my taste for cucumber sandwiches which as everyone knows are a favourite at any wake,” he wrote.

BUT…

It didn’t end there!

Tesco had this to say:

Then, Wes commented this on his post:

…saying…

To which, Tesco repliedwith this:

…anda fittingly adapted Oasis song…

Then, witty Wes came up with his own song and wrote this:

And for some final words, both Wes and Tesco made their own eulogy for the poor worm…

Guess, a friendship has been sealed by the death of a single worm…

Good job, Wes! Well done, Tesco!
