Homemade Dark Hot Choco Hazelnut Recipe

I like to whip this up during the holidays or when it’s winter. I wouldn’t mind having some tonight, though. The dark chocolate is what makes this drink recipe perfect. Simple, cosy and delicious – everything you want in a cup!

A cozy drink made with dark chocolate and hazelnut. Smooth, rich, and perfect for warming up chilly nights.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups low fat milk

  • 2 tbsp chocolate hazelnut spread

  • 1 tbsp Unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 tbsp natural sweetener

  • .5 cup Dark chocolate-at room temperature, finely chopped

  • 1 cup toppings of your choice: Marshmallows, chocolate chips or crushed hazelnuts-optional

Directions

  • In a pan, heat the milk and wait for it to steam.
  • Once it is warm, add the choco hazelnut spread, cocoa powder and sugar. Stir well until combined. Wait for the milk mixture to simmer while stirring continuously. Once it simmers, turn off the heat.
  • In a bowl, put in the chopped dark chocolate and then carefully pour in the mixture from the pan.
  • Stir everything together until the dark chocolate is fully dissolved and everything is well combined. Pour in to cups. Serve with toppings of your preference.
