Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Roasted Brussels sprouts with caramelised edges, perfect for healthy side dishes or snacks.

There are some vegetables that just don’t enchant the people, but these Roasted Brussels Sprouts are not that vegetable. Yes, brussels sprouts get a bad rap, but eating them roasted instead of boiling or steaming adds so much flavour. If you’re willing to give it a go, we think you’ll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner.

Ingredients

  • 700 gram Brussels sprouts

  • 3 tbsp Olive oil-high quality for a better taste

  • .5 tsp Salt

  • .5 tsp Pepper

  • .5 tsp Onion powder

  • .5 tsp Garlic powder

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  • Cut the hard ends off the Brussels sprouts and take off any leaves that look yellowed or damaged. Slice in half and place in a bowl.
  • Into the same bowl add the oil and everything else. Mix until the sprouts are well coated in the oil and spices.
  • Pour onto a baking tray and roast in a preheated oven for 35-40 minutes. Feel free to shake the pan now and again to redistribute the sprouts and ensure they cook evenly.
  • Serve immediately.
