Basic Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing

Salad dressings you buy in the bottle are always just a little disappointing….  They can make a great salad, a bit sad.

But a basic vinaigrette dressing is surprisingly easy to make at home.  This is a basic balsamic dressing, which is perfect for most salads (except for perhaps Ceaser salads).

A simple, tangy balsamic vinaigrette made with olive oil, vinegar, and seasonings, perfect for salads or drizzling over roasted vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cups Balsamic vinegar

  • 3/4 cups Extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 2 tsp Minced garlic

  • 1/2 tsp Salt flakes

  • 1/2 tsp Freshly Ground Black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp Chili flakes (optional)

Directions

  • Place all ingredients into a jar.  Place the lid on and shake well for two minutes.
  • Serve immediately.
  • Note:
  • You can keep any remaining vinaigrette dressing sealed in the fridge for up to three days.
