How to Make Baked Potatoes Into a Meal

The humble baked potato can be dressed up to be a whole meal – it’s not only hot and delicious, but frugal too!

To prepare your plain potato, wash and scrub it well and pat dry with paper towels or a tea towel. �Prick it a few times with a fork and wrap in aluminium foil. �Place in the hot coals of a barbecue or oven bake from 40 – 60 minutes depending on the size. To test to see if the potato is cooked, remove from the heat, open the foil (be careful of the steam) and insert a skewer – it should be soft the whole way through.

Either serve it hot with butter, or try some fancier loaded potato methods below:

Ham & Pineapple Loaded Potatoes

  • 4 tablespoon diced ham

  • 4 tablespoon grated cheese

  • 4 Baked Potatoes

  • 4 tablespoons of grated cheese
