13 Delicious Chicken Drumstick Recipes That Are Cheap and Easy

Fresh chicken drumsticks ready for cooking and delicious recipes.

Chicken Drumsticks or Chicken Legs are probably one of the cheapest cuts of meat you can purchase at your local Supermarket.

You can often pick them up at the deli section for as little as $3 per kilogram. And seeing times are tough right now – families have to save money wherever they can! As a Mum, I love the fact I can make a huge batch of chicken drumsticks and then pop them in the fridge for my hungry teenage boys to be able to graze whenever they like. They are also nifty for school lunches too.

Here are 15 Delicious Chicken Drumstick Recipes that are both cheap and easy!

1. Honey Soy Drumsticks

If you are looking for a cheap and FAST dinner – you can’t go past this recipe for Honey Soy Drumsticks. This is my Mum’s recipe and I have been eating this for over 30 years. The secret? The orange juice!

5. Slow Cooker Apricot Chicken

Remember eating Apricot Chicken as a kid? Well, we still have it quite regularly at our house. I tend not to use the Apricot Nectar as it can be really tricky to find it at the Supermarket, instead I grab the really large tins of halved apricots and pour the whole lot in – and it tastes exactly the same. Add a bit of curry powder if you want to turn it into Apricot Chicken Curry.

12. Slow Cooker Lemon Chicken

This recipe specifies chicken breast – but as you can see from the photo below, I use chicken drumsticks. Chicken on the bone always has so much more flavour than chicken breasts – which can really be dry when you cook them in the slow cooker.

13. Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

If you have never had good Chicken Cacciatore – you haven’t lived. Cacciatore is a melding of garlic, tomato, bacon, black olives and mushrooms.
