Ingredients
30 gram Butter
1 2/3 cups Plain flour
1 tsp Baking Powder Vegetable Oil-to deep fry
380 gram Caramel
Directions
- Add flour and baking powder; cook and stir for 2 minuted or until mixture comes away from side of pan.
- Transfer to a heatproof bowl. Cool slightly
- Heat oil in a large heavy-based saucepan over moderate heat (oil is ready when a cube of bread crisps quickly without absorbing oil)
- Line a baking tray with baking paper
- Spoon dough into a cloth piping bag fitted with a 1.5cm star nozzle. Pipe 12 x 12cm lengths of dough onto prepared rety, cutting ends with a sharp knife.
- Using a spatula, transfer churros (in batches) to hot oil.
- Deep-fry for 4 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
- Using a slotted spoon, transfer to paper towel to drain.
- Serve with caramel or melted chocolate
