A trusty freezer-friendly treat, this chocolate and coconut slice is rich yet surprisingly simple. Pop it out for tea time or whenever unannounced guests strike—it’s a true classic.

Ingredients

  • Base
  • 1 cup 1 cup Flour Self-Raising

  • 125 gram 125 gram Butter-melted

  • 1 cup 1 cup Coconut -dessiccated

  • 1/2 cup 0.5 cup Caster sugar

  • 1 tbsp 1 tbsp Cocoa

  • Topping
  • 1/2 cup 0.5 cup Icing sugar

  • 40 gram 40 gram Butter

  • 1 tbsp 1 tbsp Cocoa

Directions

  • Line a slice tin with baking paper.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  • In a bowl combine all the base ingredients and press firmly into the slice tin.
  • Bake for 10 minutes – then take it out to cool.
  • Mix together the topping ingredients with a tablespoon or two of hot water to combine and spread over the base.
  • Sprinkle coconut over the top.
  • Refrigerate until set – and cut into squares.

Notes

  • Chocolate and Coconut Slice is suitable to freeze for up to three months.
