Valentine Heart Puffs

Delicious strawberry heart-shaped tarts topped with fresh strawberries, perfect for Valentine’s Day.

These are the perfect excuse to munch on sweets on Valentines Day.

Romance for me, is a cup of hot chocolate or coffee paired with something yummy and a little bit special.. but I only really want to spend 15 mins max in the kitchen this Feb 14. These Valentine Heart Puffs are perfect for that lazy-but-I-wanna-make-an-effort day.

Ingredients

  • 1 Sheet puff pastry

  • 250 gram Strawberries

  • 3 tbsp Cream Cheese Lemon Frosting-(we used the Philadelphia premade one!)

  • 1 tbsp Icing sugar

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
  • Line a baking tray with baking paper. Using heart shaped cookie cutters cut out and place hearts on lined baking tray using one sheet of puffy pastry. You can use two different sized hearts like we did so you can see each layer.
  • Place a sheet of baking paper on top of the heart cut-outs then place another baking tray on top to hold down your puff pastry while cooking so you get adorable little flat pastry hearts to work with. Bake for 6-8 minutes until golden brown.
  • Once pastry is cooked, spread each heart with a teaspoon of lemon cream cheese frosting.
  • Place slices of strawberries on the base layer then top with smaller pastry heart also topped with frosting, finishing with a strawberry sliced in half on top.
  • Dust with icing sugar and you are done!
  • To make the love heart strawberries that we placed on top each dessert just pull off the leaf at top of strawberry, slice strawberry in half vertically (top to pointy base) lay flat on chopping board. Where the leaves were cut out a small V shape and the rest of the strawberry has the heart shape. Place heart strawberry on top of small puff pastry heart.
  • Serve immediately with a hot chocolate. Use icing sugar to dust.
  • Recipe Hints and Tips:
  • Heart Puffs are not suitable for freezing, best served as they are made or the day of.
