How To Make Homemade Baby Wipes

Baby wipes are a must-have not just for your bubs, but for mums too — for just about anything!

If you can’t live without baby wipes and you’re done buying it in the store, why not try to make one at home! Baby wipes are surprisingly easy to make at home. Here’s how to make homemade baby wipes.

You will need:

  • An old baby wipe container or old lunch box or something with a lid and a slit cut in the top.
  • Wipes (now I like to cut up an old flannelette sheet or nightie, or use some nice soft face washers.) Don’t use kitchen towels – it’s way too harsh for little bums. Another option is brand new disposable kitchen cloths or similar.
  • Baby Wipes Solutions (choose one from below)

Step-by-Step Procedure:

1. Cut the baby wipes to the size of the container and lay them flat.

2. Pile them up so the container is full (I got about 30 flannelette sheet pieces into a standard old baby wipe container).

3. Pour your chosen solution into the container and place the lid on top.

4. Leave for a few hours to give it a good soak.

5. Carefully turn the container upside down before use to drain excess liquid.

6. If no liquid comes out, test the wipes for dampness, if they are too dry, add a bit more solution..

Your wipes should last about 5 days in the container. Best of all, throw the used wipes in the washing machine and you can use them again and again.

We’ve also got you two other baby wipes recipes you would like to do yourself. Check these out!
