A mother has written a letter to her kids about child support putting in detail how much it costs every month to provide for them.
After hearing about her kids’ complaints about money, a mother decided to do a breakdown of her expenses for each of her three children in a post which has now gone viral.
The handwritten letter, which was posted on Instagram, contains the child support payment she receives along with every single expense she forks out for the family, including the water to wash clothes, mum’s ‘taxi’ costs and Wi-fi.
“‘Cause you can’t drive and I’m nice, even though I drive you back and forth I won’t charge you for the $560,” she wrote to her children. She also detailed the $270 she spends monthly on lights “so you can see”, and $100 on gas “so you can bathe and be warm.”
She added that while shegets $600 as contribution from the kids’ father, her outlay of funds is$888 per month, per kid.
“This is my point kiddos. Bills happen everyday. The tables have to turn to live comfortably. I work my ass off,” she wrote.
Thepost has earned more than 74,000 likes and received comments from people online who agreed that children have to understand that money doesn’t grow on trees.
