Child sitting on toilet seat to promote water conservation and hygiene. Save Water and Keep Your Loo Fresh

Would you like to cut down on your water bill and have you toilet always smell great – well try this handy little tip!

Grab an inexpensive two litre bottle of white vinegar, poke a couple of holes in the lid and place the bottle into your toilet cistern so it is lying on its side. The weight of the bottle offsets the water so you use less water with each flush, and the vinegar seeps out slowly making your loo nice and clean and lovely. This is an especially good tip if you have little boys!!!!

When the bottle is empty, just refill with more home made vinegar (see post – Making Your Own Vinegar)

This might sound really dumb but do you put the bottle in right way up or upside down?

Wouldn’t the loo smell vinegarish? I love to use vinegar and bicarbonate soda in cleaning but hate the vinegar smell after.
