10 Undemanding Indoor Plants To Have In Your House Or Office

Having plants inside your home or office could give you a little “perk-me-up” feeling every time you see them.

Plants do not only prettify your surroundings, they also purify the air and give you a green and relaxing scenery whether you are at home or in the office.

Don’t fret just yet because if you don’t have a green thumb (like me), you still have a good chance of adding in some green to your abode.

Here are ten low maintenance indoor plants that we recommend for you:

1) Jade plant (Crassula ovata)

Also known as the money plant or friendship plant. Because of its succulent nature, it does not really require you to water it everyday, all you have to do is water it when the soil feels dry. Make sure not to let it drown!

2) Yucca (Yucca elephantipes)

The Yucca is a hardy foliage plant with long stems and long leaves. All you have to do is put it on an area that is bathed in natural light and you’re good to go. Great for the corners of your living room!

3) String of Pearls (Senecio rowleyanus)

This indoor beauty is a creeping succulent that looks like a string of beads, thus the name. Make sure that you place it in an area where its tendrils can hang freely. It is easy to cultivate, however it is somewhat toxic, so probably not great to have around the kids and pets.

4) Echeveria

This pretty succulent plant could beautify and give your work desk a boost. It could also be a stunning addition to your patio. This plant can thrive on minimal care, just keep the soil moist.

5) Aloe Vera

Another stunning succulent plant with beneficial medicinal properties. Aside from being good for your skin and hair, the aloe plant just need to bask in light for it not to wither. Place it on your window sill or at your kitchen island.

6) Snake Plant (Sansevieria trifasciata)

Also of the succulent specie, the snake plant or ribbon plant has thick, waxy leaves. It does not have stems and it is completely okay to let it be for long periods of time.

7) Devil’s Ivy (Pothos)

If your thumb is kind of purple or black (all except for green), you might still have some green light inside your fortress with this plant. With its luscious leafy vine, the Devil’s Ivy can purify indoor air big time.

8) Air Plants (Tillandasia)

These cute little stringy plants are on trend right now. Plant them in tiny, fish bowl-like crystal containers and hang them anywhere. Occasionally mist your air plants with water from a sprayer.

9) Cactus (Cactaceae)

The cactus is the go-to indoor-slash-decorative plant of people with the blackest thumbs! I mean, seriously, cacti plants are very looow maintenance.

10) Shamrock Plant (Trifolium pratense)

If you wanted to feel lucky inside your office, place some shamrock plant on your open window sill. Looks like a clover leaf, the shamrock plant thrives on cooler temperatures and wants some fresh air. It also bears cutesy little yellow or white flowers.
