Ingredients
2 cups Broccoli florets
0.33 cup Soy sauce-reduced sodium if you can get it
0.66 cup Beef broth
0.25 cup Honey
2 tbsp Rice wine vinegar
2 tbsp Brown sugar-heaped
3 Garlic cloves-minced
1 tbsp Sesame oil
1 tbsp Cornstarch
1 tbsp Fresh ginger-minced
1 tbsp Peanut oil-can sub olive oil
1 Brown onion
500 gram Flank steak-sliced thin across grain
Directions
- In a medium bowl put the soy sauce, beef stock, brown sugar, honey, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, cornstarch and 1/4 cup of water. Whisk until well combined, then set aside.
- Heat peanut oil in a large skillet over medium/high heat. When hot, add the onion and garlic, stir frying for a few minutes until fragrant. Then add the steak and cook, flipping once, until browned on both sides. This should take about 3-4 minutes, depending on steak thickness.
- Add broccoli and stir for a minute or two, then pour over the sauce. Stir until the broccoli is tender and the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Serve immediately. We recommend on white rice.
