Thigh Gaps And..What Thigh Gap, B*tches?!

Woman with confident pose highlighting thigh gap and body confidence.

Womencomplain so much about their bodies including not having washboard abs and, most importantly, thigh gaps.

Don’t tell me you’ve never done that your whole life because I’m pretty sure you did…at one point or another. I mean, isn’t it a big inconvenience when your huge belly gets in the way of your favourite dress or when your *gasp* non-existing thigh gaps don’t show up when you wear those supposedly-flattering swimsuits?!

Comedienne Luisa Omielan, who hails from London, recently tackled all these women issues such as our obsession over aesthetics. Her skit, which she performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival has gone viral, with more than 8 million hits to date.

So how does she address this all-important women issue?

Well she starts off telling how people can be so judgemental with one another saying:

We like to judge… hair colour, accent, body shape… when I’m about to sit down to taste and enjoy my food, now is not the time to tell me how many calories are on my plate.

We totally get you, Lu.

After all,

It’s called a Happy Meal for a reason — stop raining on my parade.

She continues on, while grabbing her stomach, and asks the audience: “What makes you think I don’t like this? I love this. Do you know what this means?”

What she says next is right on point, and we love how she addresses it.

This means I go out to dinner with friends. This is my present to myself.

Luisa goes on by telling everyone that women are so self-deprecating. We bring each other down and we bring ourselves down, too. But she says, every chance we get of receiving a compliment, we need to learn how to take it and “upgrade” them as well. When someone tells us we have a nice dress, we all know what we need to say, “Damn right, it’s a nice dress and I’ll tell you something else — it look sh*t on the hanger”.

This funny comedienne finishes off her skit by pretend-crying over her thighs rubbing each other — even getting to the point of bringing her trousers down to her ankles to show just that.

What? You’re thighs touch each other?! Might as well bring yourself to the circus, yes!

But her last spiel is just epic:

I’m sorry b*tches, if you were this close to my vagina, wouldn’t you start touching yourself?

Right on, sister, you are now our favourite mate!
