With Autumn now here, it’s nearly time to dust off the slowcooker (if you haven’t already) and start some hearty bubbling casseroles. Slow Cooker Beef Goulash is a hearty and heavy meal – perfect for hungry bellies!
Slow Cooker Beef Goulash

Ingredients
600 gram Chuck steak-Diced
1 Onion-slice
1 tsp Garlic-minced
2 Potato-diced
1 tbsp Paprika
.50 tsp Cumin
2 Bay leaf
2 cups Crushed Tomatoes-Tinned
1 Capsicum-sliced
.50 cup Red wine
.50 cup Chicken stock
Directions
- Place rump, onion, garlic, potato, paprika, cumin and bay leaves into a slow cooker and mix to combine.
- Pour in the tomatoes, capsicum, wine and stock and gently mix.
- Cover and cook on high for 4 hours, or until rump is tender.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve topped with a dollop of sour cream.
- Serve with crusty bread or some cheesy mashed potato and steamed vegetables.
- Recipe Hints and Tips:
- Slow Cooker Beef Goulash is suitable to be cooked in bulk and frozen. Allow to cool to room temperature, 3/4 fill a ziplock bag and freeze for up to six months.
- To cook in the oven: Prepare as above and place ingredients into an oven proof container. Cook with the lid on for 1.5 hours.
