As the cooler weather approaches, it’s time to drag out the slow cooker and start whipping up some toasty warm delights. This Slow cooker Spicy Chicken may have a few ingredients, but its definitely worth it when you come home to a ready-made, home cooked dinner.

Ingredients
500 gram Chicken thighs-(or chicken mince)
1 tsp Ginger powder
1 tsp Garlic-crushed
0.5 cup Almonds-slivered
0.66 cup Greek yoghurt
0.5 tsp Chilli powder
0.25 tsp Cloves-ground
0.25 tsp Cinnamon-ground
1 tsp Garam masala
0.5 tsp Cardamom-ground
400 gram tin Tomatoes-chopped
1 number brown Onion-sliced
Directions
- Brown the chicken in a frypan and set aside.
- Place ginger and garlic into a food processor or bullet and process to fine consistency.
- Place mixture into a slow cooker, along with the yoghurt, spices and tomatoes. Mix well.
- Add chicken and onion and mix to coat well.
- Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or until the chicken is tender.
- Sprinkle with the toasted slivered almonds and serve immediately with white rice and pappadums.
- Recipe Hints and Tips:
- Slowcooker Spicy Chicken is suitable to freeze for up to four months. Allow to cool to room temperature before 3/4 filling a ziplock bag.
