Ingredients

  • 250 ml beef stock (salt-reduced)

  • 2 tsp balsamic vinegar

  • 2 tsp molasses

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • .25 tsp ground ginger

  • .25 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 Pinch pepper

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir well to dissolve sugar and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes or until slightly reduced.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  • Store in a sterilised jar or bottle in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Notes

  • Use vegetable stock instead of beef for a vegan version.
  • Shake well before using—settling may occur.
  • Great for stir-fries, marinades, or dipping sauce.
  • Adjust sugar or vinegar to suit your taste preferences.
  • Can be frozen in ice cube trays for longer storage.
