Ingredients

  • 45 ml whisky (Scotch or Irish whisky preferred)

  • 15 ml lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

  • 10 ml sugar syrup

  • 1 dash absinthe (optional)

  • 30 ml soda water

  • Ice cubes

  • Lemon twist or wedge, to garnish

Directions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add whisky, lemon juice, sugar syrup, and a dash of absinthe (if using).
  • Shake well until chilled.
  • Strain into a chilled rocks or highball glass filled with ice.
  • Top with soda water.
  • Garnish with a lemon twist or wedge
