Mean and Green Matcha Vanilla Smoothie

Healthy matcha vanilla smoothie in a clear cup with a straw on a wooden table.

If you’ve never tried matcha before, or you just aren’t sure you like it, then you have to give this Mean and Green Matcha Vanilla Smoothie a go.

Matcha is a powdered green tea, very big in Japan and just starting to get traction in Australia. It’s available in more places than you’d think, and we love it.

Not only is match a really interesting flavour, it’s also super good for you. One serving of matcha is equal to 10 cups of green tea, it’s packed with antioxidants and it’s a guaranteed boost. This recipe is great to start on because it allow you to alter the amount of matcha to suit you. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 Bananas-frozen and sliced

  • 1 cup Almond milk

  • 1 tbsp Matcha powder-more or less to taste

  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla bean paste

  • 1 tsp Honey-or sweetener of choice, more or less to taste

Directions

  • Put everything into the blender and blend until smooth. Taste and adjust ingredients to your liking. We would recommend putting a smaller amount of matcha in initially, so you can work out how strong you like it to be.
  • Serve over ice.
