I’ve received so many requests on how to cook corned beef or corned silverside in the slow cooker which is why I finally made this recipe.

Ingredients

  • Corned Beef

  • 1 number Corned Beef (1500 gram)-or silverside

  • Brown Sugar Corned Beef

  • 1500 gram Corned Beef-or silverside

  • 1/2 cups Brown vinegar

  • 0.25 cup Brown Sugar

  • 1 number Cinnamon Sticks-optional

  • Ginger Ale Corned Beef

  • 1500 gram Corned Beef

  • 1 number Onion

  • 2 number Garlic cloves

  • 1 number Ginger ale (1250 millilitre)

Directions

  • Corned Beef:
  • Remove the meat from the packet and wash well under a running tap.
  • Place the washed meat in the slow cooker.
  • Using a jug, fill the slow cooker with water until the meat is just covered.
  • Cook on high for four hours or low for 8 hours.
  • Brown Sugar Corned Beef:
  • Placed the washed corned beef in the slow cooker and 3/4 fill with water.
  • Add the brown vinegar and sprinkle the brown sugar on top.
  • Place the cinnamon stick in the water.
  • Cook on high for four hours or low for 8 hours.
  • Ginger Ale Corned Beef:
  • Placed the washed corned beef in the slow cooker and pour over the ginger ale.
  • Add the quartered onions and the cloves and cook for four hours on high or eight hours on low.
  • Recipe Hints and Tips:
  • Slow Cooker Corned Beef is suitable to freeze for up to three months.
  • Place in a Glad ziplock bag and push out as much air as possible before placing in the freezer.
