Jelly Whip – A Two Ingredient Dessert

Jelly whip | stay at home mum

Also known as Flummery, Jelly Whip is a rich fun dessert for the whole family!

The great thing about this two-ingredient Jelly Whip recipe – is that it can easily feed a family of four for only $4! So cheap! ?It is simple to make – just make sure you put the evaporated milk in the fridge overnight!

The texture is somewhere between thick cream and bubble gum – hard to explain. ?Just beware if you choose a really sweet jelly flavour – the sweetness of the dish can get a little overwhelming (ie bubblegum!).

  • Whist still beating the milk, gently add the almost set jelly mixture.
  • Once the jelly, and milk are well combined, give the sides a scrape down and one last mix.

Notes

Mmmmm, my Mum used to make a similar dessert with yoghurt instead of the evap milk. Tastes delish and is a little healthier.

My mum use to make this a lot… we called it flummery… with all the different jellies we could have so many flavours without getting sick of it… thanks for reminding me of this old but good classic!

Where can you buy jelly crystals? I have never heard of them before.

    1. Jody Allen Avatar

Jelly Crystals are Australian Felicia – do you have packets of jelly that you just add water too where you are?

I planned on making this tonight but the joys of having a teething baby, I didn’t read the instructions properly and used the correct amount of water in the jelly instead of halving it!

Made this just now with mango jelly and coconut evap milk but think my jelly set too much as it hasn’t blended so well. Kids will still love it though 🙂

We call it fluffy jelly 🙂 It’s super yummy & you can use the light evaporated milk with the diet right jelly crystals if you’re trying to be healthy

Sugar is far healthier than toxic artificial sweetener.
