Chicken & Vegetable Rice Mix
- 1.5kg minced chicken meat
- 2 1/2 cups frozen vegetable blend (no garlic or onions) minced
- 4 cups rice
- 6.5 cups water
Place chicken, vegetables, and rice into a large saucepan or Dutch oven. Stir in water until the mixture is smooth. Place over medium-high heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the rice is tender and all of the liquid has been absorbed, about 25 minutes. Cool completely before serving; store covered in the refrigerator or freeze into individual serves.
Makes 12 serves for an average size dog.

Response to “Homemade Dog Food Recipes”
At first, I also depend more on pre-made dog food. However, I noticed that my dogs, Douglas and Dennis, started to avoid pre-made dog food. A friend of mine advised me to cook food for them instead. I did it and my dogs loved it. It is also then that I learned the horrors of the processes and the contents of pre-made dog food. Have you learned about the 4 D’s? 4 D stands for animals that are dead, dying, diseased or down at slaughter. These come in to pre-made dog food and we should not allow our dogs to take them.
