Toddler Dies After Choking on Bubblegum

A toddler has died after choking on a bubblegum at a shopping centre in Perth’s north.

Witnesses told Nine News that the two-year-old boy was at Kmart in Joondalup with his mother on Monday afternoon when he began to choke on bubblegum.

Paramedics were immediately called and when they arrived, the boy was reportedly unconscious and could not be resuscitated.

He was rushed to�Joondalup Health Campus but tragically could no longer be saved.

Police were called to the hospital to investigate but have declared the matter not suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
