A missing woman and her husband werebelieved to be ‘drowning in debt’ before the woman disappeared.

Karen Ristevski,47,from Melbourne, disappeared last month, but before she was reported missing, she and her husband, Borce Ristevski, 52, reportedly had an argumentover financial issues, which led to Mrs Ristevski leaving her homeat Avondale Heights three weeks ago, on June 29.

The Australian reported that the couple are said to bepartners in a business, Bella Bleu, where Mrs Ristevski is listed as a sole shareholder and Mr Ristevski as a director of another business.

The publication claims a caveat, believedto be due tounpaid rent, was lodged in February by a shopping centre owner over Mrs Ristevski’s Avondale Heights property. The caveat prevents the property, saidto be worth up to $1.1million, from being transferred or sold.

The Australian also reported that the problems with finances for the family are believedto date back over ten years following the disintegration of a rag trade business.

Earlier reports revealed thatinvestigators had spoken with Mr Ristevskias part of the ongoing investigation. He was since released pending further inquiries after hewas unable to provide any answers to where Mrs Ristevskiwent after their argument.

Yahoo7 News is not suggesting Mr Ristevski is involved in the disappearance of his wife.

People who knewMrs Ristevski have reportedly said her disappearance is out of character.

Concerns about her whereabouts grew when she didn’t show up to work at the Watergardens Town Centre.

Karen Ristevski has been described as having shoulder-length brown hair and a slim build and is 160cm tall. She was last seen wearing jeans and a black jacket and is believed to have had a Coach purse and handbag with her.

The investigation into herdisappearance remains ongoing.
