Arnott’s Dumped New Pizza Shape Recipe

Arnott's Shapes Pizza snack with crispy baked texture and pizza flavour.

It just goes to show you that when the customer is upset, the customer will make a noise, and a loud one at that!

Arnott’s was involved in the biggest ‘customer backlash’ seen this year on social media when it released a new recipe for Pizza Shapes. Arnott’s reason for changing the recipe was to improve the health star rating. Unfortunately, many customers claimed that the new taste of the ‘improved’ Pizza Shapes recipes was ‘disgusting’.

The company released a statement today:

“In response to popular demand, Arnott’s announces today that Australia’s beloved Original Pizza Shapes will return to supermarket shelves this September.”

‘Since the launch of the New Shapes flavours, we’ve been listening to feedback. Aussies have clearly shown us the love they have for Original Pizza Shapes and we’re happy to announce the product will be returning to shelves over the coming weeks. We’be been humbled by Australia’s passion for Shapes and would like to thank our fans for their patience. We hope to now have the best Shapes range for Shapes-lovers old and new”

Arnott’s other top selling flavours including Original BBQ, Chicken Crimpy and Savoury were still available in their ‘Old Recipe’ form alongside the ‘Newly Improved’ (but disgusting) recipe.

A big salute to Arnott’s. They copped a fair bit of flack online and in the media for their decision.
