Home Made Window Cleaner

DIY window cleaner spray bottle with cloth on window.

Why buy expensive window cleaner when you can make your own – and it’s soooo easy! Here are a few different recipes depending on what you have on hand at home!

Classic Clean

Plain old White Vinegar and newspaper. Put the vinegar in a spray bottle (1/2 cup vinegar to 2 cups of warm water), spray the window and wipe with a scrunched up piece of newspaper. Cleans beautifully and is as cheap as chips!

Want something a bit more ‘heavy duty’. Then here’s the ticket:

For The Tougher Jobs

  • 1/2 teaspoon cheap hair shampoo
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 cups of water

Mix well and place in a labelled spray bottle.

Happy cleaning!

Just wondering if these homemade window cleaners are suitable for tinted windows?

No Nadine, I wouldn’t use anything except mild soapy water to clean tinted windows!
