Keeping our home clean and well-organised means keeping our garden shed clean, too, which most of the time gets left out.
As much as we’re concerned about how to keep things tidy’around the house, our garden shed needs our attention too. Can you imagine tossing everything out just to find your hammer or nails? So, why not keep them in one place and store them neatly?
You don’t have to spend too much just to clean up your garden shed, you just need to read this article that might inspire you to tidy up.
I love this idea. Not only are the tools off the floor where the kids could stand on them and hurt themselves, it is all neat and tidy and easy to find. Plus wall hooks like this are very inexpensive!
Almost everyone has a bit of PVC’pipe laying around the house or yard. But if you don’t, it is supremely cheap to buy at your local hardware store. Cut it with a hacksaw, and screw to the wall for this easy storage area for brooks, rakes and long-handled shovels.
I have a HEAP of these tubs. I bought them cheap from the Reject Shop, and I keep all my photographs and things I want to keep forever in them – and keep them in the shed. Why? I’m always paranoid the house might burn down! And knowing they are safe from water, dust and put away where pests can’t get into them is great. Plus I love the fact that you can see what’s in them and they are stackable.
4. A Bench or Potting shelf that doubles as a storage
If you are into gardening (I’m mad for it!) – then a potting shelf or bench is an invaluable space. It has to be in an area that can get dirty without fuss (because potting is dirty work).
Again, grab these invaluable little bins from cheap shops. You can usually pick them up for about $16 each. I use them for dog food, weeding around the yard, mulch and compost. Plus they also make great bins for the kitchen that you can ‘wheel’ close to the dishwasher when cleaning the kitchen.
