High-End Hammy Downs – A new app launches to exchange your Kids’ outgrown clothes!

New app for exchanging kids' outgrown clothes, perfect for eco-conscious families.

Revolutionising hand-me-downs.

High-End Hammy Downs, a new online platform that facilitates the exchange of high-quality children’s clothing, has launched to help parents reduce waste, save time and money. This peer to peer platform with an algorithmic matching system alerts parents to potential hand-me-downs in their radius, interstate or around the corner.

The idea behind High-End Hammy Downs is simple:  instead of buying new clothes for your growing  children, exchange their gently – used clothing for  other high-quality items that will fit them better. In a world where fast fashion dominates, and clothing is  increasingly treated as a disposable item, hand-me  downs offer a viable alternative that benefits both the environment and society.

Let’s face it kids grow out of clothes quickly because  their bodies are constantly changing and developing.  Clothes often become too small before they have a  chance to wear them out. In the first few years of life,  babies and toddlers may need new clothes every few  months. As they get older, their growth rate may  slow down, but they will still need bigger clothes  regularly.

“High-End Hammy Downs is all about creating a sustainable, convenient and cost-effective solution for parents who want choices for their children clothing. We know that children grow out of clothes quickly, and we want to help parents get the most out of the clothing that they already own. Plus not everyone has cousins or friends with the same size kids at the same time.

The platform is easy to use: parents sign up, enter details of the clothing they want to exchange, and browse for items they would like to receive in return. The Exchange Algorithm that connects parents instantly ensures that all items being swapped are of similar quality and condition.

The platform is not just about exchanging  clothes; it’s also about building a  community of like-minded parents who  care about sustainability and reducing  waste. We want to create a community  where parents can feel good about  exchanging clothing and building  relationships with each other.

We believe by connecting an oversupply of textiles with family demand, we are providing a convenient, sustainable, economical, and innovative way for parents to reduce their waste and refresh their children’s wardrobe”

Natasha, a mum of two, a dedicated Accountant at an AI company and an avid tree hugger, found herself facing a common challenge that many parents can relate to – dealing with her kids’ outgrown clothes responsibly.

Tired of driving around with bags of clothes in her boot for months, searching for elusive charity bins, she realised there had to be a better way to handle this situation.

In light of the oversupply of donations and a shortage of staff, many charities were sadly forced to turn away contributions, leaving Natasha feeling disheartened and uncertain about the fate of her children’s clothing. The thought of creating endless online listings on platforms like Facebook didn’t appeal to her either.

With a vision to offer an easy digital tool for parents to not only help them give/receive kids preloved clothes but help reduce textile-based, we are thrilled to announce the launch of Natasha’s innovative venture, a platform that empowers parents to responsibly exchange and repurpose their kids’ outgrown clothes.

By utilising technology, this initiative aims to revolutionise how we approach clothing waste, making it easier and more convenient for families to play a part in protecting our environment.
