A mother has given birth to a gorgeous 6kg baby girl.

Christine Corbitt, from Florida in the US, knew she would have a big baby because of her undeniably huge belly as she approached her due date, yet she didn’t know how big her baby would be until last month.

When the day came, Ms Corbitt got the surprise of her life when she gave birth via C-section toCarleigh Brooke who weighed a whopping 13 pounds, 5 ounces (6kg), which isalmost double the average newborn weight of three and a half kilos.

Baby born weighing 6kg, stunning delivery captured in hospital.

MsCorbitt already has two children who were born on the larger side of the scale, but says she wasn’t expecting this.

“It looked like they pulled a toddler out of my belly,” Ms Corbitt tells Action News Jax.

“I’ve had nine- and 10- pound babies and I figured maybe she’d be 10 pounds, but she was a surprise,” said Corbitt, saying she heard laughter as the doctor was delivering the baby.

“When the baby was coming out, I was like ‘is this baby ever going to end?’”

Carleigh was so big that Ms Corbitt’s husband, Larry says the nappies they had didn’t fit her, and now she is already wearing a size three nappy.

He says that their baby’s due date was May 20th or 21st, which means the baby would have been even bigger had she not arrived early.

While the couple agrees that their newest baby is “gorgeous”, she will probably be their last.”I’m done, I’m done. No more babies for me,” Ms Corbitt said.
