Safe Schools Program Slammed In a Letter Sent to Parents in Sydney’s Northwest

Parents have varied reactions after receiving a letter slamming the controversial Safe Schools program which teaches children about sex changes and homosexuality.

Some parents in Sydney’s northwest were shocked as the letter highlights that children who are�confused about their so-called ‘gender identity’ have a ‘mental illness.’

The anonymous letter, sent to parents of Glenwood and Seven Hills high school students,�also urges teachers to refrain from promoting homosexual intercourse.

“Safe Schools encourages cross dressing and teaches children that they can be the opposite sex if they “feel” like they are.

“If a child is struggling with gender identity disorder, a parent/guardian should seek counselling … not affirm this twisted and harmful lie about their gender.

“It is a proven fact that harmful diseases stem from homosexual acts, sodomy, and this type of behaviour should not be encouraged from our school teachers,” it said.

Some people have expressed their support saying that the�program disregarded the difference between “male and female chromosomes.”�However, one woman accused the letter writer of displaying ‘fanatical homophobia’.

The Safe Schools Coalition Australia is funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Education and Training and is designed to promote inclusiveness for ‘same sex attracted, intersex and gender diverse’ students.

Since the program was introduced in 2010, the federally-funded Safe Schools program has been inundated with criticisms that�it is pushing radical gender theory.

Early last year, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, a supporter of gay marriage, agreed to a review of the controversial lessons.

Kidspot�reported that a department spokesman said in a statement that parents can choose to opt their child out of any Safe Schools lesson.�”Individual schools determine if they will participate in the program. All NSW public schools are required to consult with parents prior to using Safe Schools resources with students in class.�Parents are given the opportunity to opt out their child’s participation in any lesson using Safe Schools resources,” he said.

Safe Schools is now limited to high schools, after the review found that the material was unsuitable for primary-school aged children.
