Fitness Guru Mum Slams Those Who Say C-Sections Are The ‘Easy Way Out’

Mother with two newborns, bonding and caring.

A fitness guru and mum has slammed those who sayC-sections are the ‘easy way out’ as she reveals she’s still in pain more than a yearafter giving birth.

Mum-of-four, Sophie Guidolin, 27, from the Gold Coast, Queensland, gave birth via caesarean section to her twin girls, Evie and Aria in September 2015, and a few months after,Ms Guidolin showed her enviably lean body, which was attributed to her fit and active pregnancy.

However, despite looking healthy and fit from the outside, she revealed that she was in a lot of pain and recovering more than a year after giving birth.

Ms Guidolintook it to Instagramto hit those who say c-sections are the ‘easy way out’. She wrote:

“‘C-section is the easy way out.’ Wait… what did I just read?!?

“I have 4 beautiful, healthy children – each birth completely different to the next.My favourite birth of all, was Ryder – a small country hospital, no doctor, my cousin and I on the floor delivering him into the world perfectly healthy. The best experience.

“Anywho, I just saw an article saying that women are taking the “easy” way out by opting for C-sections.”

Ms Guidolin added that she loves taking care of her ‘delightfully cheeky’ baby girls, but C-section wasnever easy.

“Was it “easy”? You’ve got to be s****ing me? Haha the actual process of delivery was ALOT less painful, but over a year on – I am STILL recovering and in pain. Natural delivery recovery is around 3-6 months,’ Ms Guidolin, a personal trainer, continued.

“I can’t put any weight on my pelvis (hip thrusts) I have internal scar tissue that hurts to touch and aches. When I think of it, I wouldn’t say “easy” I would say “different”. Remember this is my PERSONAL experience,” she wrote.

Ms Guidolin then recountedher experience to explain why shesaid c-sections are far more daunting than a vaginal birth.

“Firstly, a C-section is so so scary.

“You’re in a cold room on your own having a giant needle inserted in your back, you have no feeling in your legs, except the tugging of someone inside your stomach, then when the painkillers wear off, you have been cut on your pelvis, so it’s hard to sit up and walk.

“It’s certainly not easy,” she added

Ms Guidolin ended her post by saying that if she and her husband were given a choice as to what birth method they would pick if ever they will haveanother baby, she said she would still choose a vaginal delivery.

“Everyone’s idea of “hard” is going to be different too. How about we celebrate that life was created and entered the world – rather than the judgement of “who has it harder” surrounding it?,” she concluded.

Ms Guidolin’s post gained more than 4,600 likes and got mostly praises from people online, with one woman saying, “I would say as long as baby is born healthy who cares how they came into the world, excellent words Sophie, we are all mothers, no one should be judging how a baby came to be in this world.”
