The RMS Titanic has gone down in history as one of the biggest and most luxurious ships of her time.

Unfortunately she only made one voyage and it was during that voyage she hit an iceberg and sunk 2 and a half miles down to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.

The RMS Titanic was one of 3 ships designed and built by the Harland and Wolff shipping company; the others were the RMS Olympic and the HMHS Britannic. Olympic was the first of the 3 ships to be build, the Titanic was the second and the Britannic was the final one of the Olympic Class Liners.

2. But she was the most expensive ship of her time.

The cost of the ship was reported to have been around $1.5 million, which is around $400 million in today’s money, making her one of the most expensive ships built at that time. Out of the 3 liners built at that time, Titanic was the most expensive owing to her luxurious fixtures and fittings.
