How to Answer These 25 Most Asked Job Interview Questions

Woman smiling confidently at a job interview, man appearing nervous and anxious.

6. What’s your dream job?

Hint: Your dream job is exactly the same job you’re applying for right now.

7. What are you looking for in a new position?

Hint: Specifically, the same things that this position has to offer.

8. What type of work environment do you prefer?

Hint: Ideally, one that’s similar to the environment of the company you’re applying to.

9. Why are you leaving your current job?

This is your cue to wipe that sweat off your forehead, breath and calm yourself. We know this is tough, and it would be best for your status to not mention anything negative like some workplace conflict. Play along the lines of “I found a better opportunity for myself and I thought that I should not let it pass..”

10. Why did you decide to change career paths?

Be honest. But keep things positive and professional. You know you’ve answered this question well if you were able to give examples as to how the skills you learned from your previous career can be used for this new role.
