Twin Born First Becomes Younger Than Twin Born Second in Unusual Turn of Events

Twin brothers born first, with one appearing younger in a hospital setting.

The birth oftwin boys has resultedin a remarkable twistas the first twin is younger than the second twin, even though he was born first!

Twin boys Samuel and Ronan, from Massachusetts in the US, were bornin the early hours of November 6 at Cape Cod Hospital, and inan unusual turn of events, due todaylight savings, matters became just a bit complicated.

The first twin, Samuel, was born at 1.39am, but whenthe clocks were turned back an hour for daylight savings, the second twin, Ronan, who arrived 31 minutes later or at1.10am, officially at least on paper becomes the older twin.

The twin’s mum,Emily Peterson toldABC News, Ms Peterson said that it took her and husband, Seth a while to get used to it.

“It literally took me a day to wrap my head around it. I didn’t realize it was quite that big of a deal until my nurse turned around and said ‘I’ve been working here 40 years and haven’t seen anything like that’,” she said.

The twins’ photo was posted in Cape Cod Healthcare‘s Facebook page.

Michael Lauf, president and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare, told the ABC that although it might seem ridiculous, they had a legal obligation to record the correct time.

“The Peterson twins’ birth story was a remarkable occurrence,” he said.

The twins have now returnedhome to join their big sister, Aubrey.
