Regardless of what type of illness you have, from a stomach ache to a runny nose, drinking plenty of water is always recommended. However, if you have a runny nose, switch to warm water rather than cold water which can make it worse. Add some lemon and honey to hot water and drink throughout the day.

3. Homemade nasal spray

Saline solution is a popular remedy to purchase at the chemist to help with runny and blocked nasal passages. Simply squirt the mixture into your nose when needed and you should be able to breathe a little easier. However, you can make your own with simply salt and water. Add half a teaspoon of salt to a cup of water and stir. Add the mixture to a dropper and drop into your nose whenever you need to.
