Removing Chewing Gum

Child blowing bubble gum with playful expression.

Gum – it’s everywhere. It’s disgusting…. Here’s how to get rid of it!

Stuck to Clothing: Put the item on clothing into the freezer or use an ice cube to ‘freeze’ it. Then just crack and peel it straight off!

Stuck in Hair: As a kid, my mum used to rub peanut butter into the offending gum and it would ‘grease it up’ so to speak and it would slide right out (use smooth, not crunchy). Another method is using a small amount of eucalyptus oil on a cloth and sponging it right out! The ice cube method also works – pop some ice cubes into a plastic bag, then rub this over the hair til the gum hardens and gently pull the gum out of the hair!

Do you have any other tried and true methods?
