Homemade Dishwashing Liquid

Homemade dishwashing liquid | Stay at Home Mum

Here’s a great dishwashing liquid for you to make – this one’s for use in your kitchen sink (not the dishwasher!)

  • 1/4 cup soap flakes
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1/4 cup glycerine
  • 10 – 15 drops lemon or orange essential oil

Mix the soap flakes and the hot water together and stir until the soap flakes have dissolved. Cool until tepid, then add the glycerine and the essential oil.

As it cools down this mixture will form into a gel – if this happens use a fork to stir and break it up a little.

Pour into an old shampoo bottle or an old dishwashing liquid bottle and just squirt into a sink of hot water to wash your dishes!
