Pregnant Pole Dancer Wants to Dance Through Labour to Keep Mind Off Contractions

Nothing can stop this 23-year-old pole dancer, from doing what she loves — not even being35 weeks pregnant.

Tabitha Vincent,a pole-dancing instructor from Perth, Western Australia, who is expecting a little girl with boyfriend Jade Tawhai, also 23, is convinced that she will pole dance her way during labour to keep her mind off the contractions.

“I saw a video go viral of a lady pole dancing to bring on her labour and thought I’d love to do the same thing,” she said.

Tabitha first took up pole-dancing in 2012 and now hasher own pole installed at home, which she practices on three times a week.

When she fell pregnant, sheworried at first about whether continuing to dance would put her unborn baby at risk, but midwives reassured her that, sinceher body was used to that sort of exercise, it was safe.

However, when she posted her photos doing her stunts while pregnant, she earned somenegative comments, but she said that her baby is of utmost importance for her.

“Obviously, my baby’s health is the most important thing to me and I’d never do anything to jeopardise that.Mostly, people are just impressed that I can still do these moves so far into my pregnancy,” she said.

Though shehad to stop doing for nowsome of the more extreme moves, she is still taking to the pole twice a week. She believes that pole dancinghas helped her avoid some of the typical side effects of pregnancy, such as back pain and morning sickness.

She also hopes it will help her body bounce back quicker following the birth of her daughter.

“If everything goes well and I have a straightforward, natural delivery, I’m hoping to be back on the pole as soon as possible,” she said.
