9. Take Time To Enjoy The World

Life is busy, but taking time to ‘stop and smell the roses’ as the saying goes really can make things seem better. When you’re out with your child, try not to rush so much. Take time to watch the cars drive past, to watch the construction workers at their jobs, and to watch the birds flying through the sky.

Take time to let your child mix the cake batter, take time to make sandcastles in the dirt, take time to enjoy it all. Sometimes, just allow yourself to do something at your child’s pace, even if it seems impossibly slow. They’ll be overtaking you soon enough.

10. Remember The Little�Things�

You may feel that, as time goes on, there’s just not enough room to do the ‘little things’ you always promised yourself you’d do as a mum. After all, they’re not necessary.

Well, that is true, but that doesn’t mean that the little things aren’t a nice bonus now and again. They’re a bonus for parents to give, and a bonus for kids to get. So put the little love note in with their lunch, make their favourite sweet breakfast on Sunday morning, and surprise them with an outing on a boring Wednesday afternoon. These little things, as you’ve probably heard, get remembered as the big things later on.
