While feeding is often considered to be mum’s territory, there are so many things that dads can do to help mum out in the process. Why not take responsibility for burping the baby after the feed, or for changing the baby and then swaddling them. Let mum take a break while you sort out the details, she’ll appreciate the time out.

Households go through a lot of changes when a baby enters the mix, and it can be difficult for parents, but particularly mums, to keep up. Dads might feel like all mums do is baby stuff, but in the first months of your child’s life, that will be your partner’s main focus. You can help her out by picking up the other responsibilities around the house. Get food on the table to nourish her and make sure the house is clean. It’s a hand she’ll love to have.
