How to Remove Mould from a Pram
So you’ve stashed the pram in the boot of the car or the shed and left it for a bit – and have come back to a green living life form in the shape of your former pram! It happens all the time – it has happened to ME! It really is easy fixed with a little bit of elbow grease – here’s how!
You will need:
- Clove Oil (from your local chemist or health food shop)
- 1kg Salt (just basic no-name brand boring old salt!)
- A good scrubbing brush
In a bucket of water dissolve the salt into the water – it helps if the water is warm – it will ‘melt’ the salt quicker. Add a few drops of Clove Oil – this will kill the mould spores and will prevent the mould coming back! With a scrubbing brush or stiff brush – rub the salt water over the whole pram – really give it a good scrub – get into every nook and cranny. Leave the pram out in the sun for a few hours to dry – you will notice that the water will evaporate and a salt residue will be left. Then with a dry cloth – wipe off the salt – give the pram a good shaking to get it all off.
One very expensive pram saved!!!!

I’m in a pickle. I’ve got a vibrant red pram (mountain buggy so super exy) that I just noticed has mould on it. Damn qld weather. I found your remedy do you think this will effect the colour? Thanks so much.
my son is 1 has a BRIGHT red city mini pram, I tried everything wound up using coles “ultra mould remover”, it didn’t bleach and removed the mould in an hr.
Spray effected areas, scrub with a nail brush or old tooth brush ( wont remove all at that stage), leave for an hr (longer if still visable stains) then once its all gone WASH the fabric if you can to remove risk of the mould remover effecting little peoples skin. MIND YOU don’t do it on a wet/ muggy day unless you bring inside and stick infront of fan
